Archive for Recreation

So, last year I got a travel membership through Global Resorts Network.  If you haven’t heard of them, they give you around 50-80% OFF 4- and 5-star resorts and cruises for a membership fee.  The fee is pretty reasonable because I’ve saved probably $4k on my vacations so far (and that’s just in the first year…)

I recently had a business trip to Chicago, but I wanted to take some time off afterwards.  I had been procrastinating my next vacation long enough, so I said “screw it” and just went.  I spent 3 days in Chicago for business and then drove up to Lake Geneva… And it was GORGEOUS!

Horseback riding, Skiing and Snowboarding, and 2 world-class golf courses (too bad I *stink* at golf!)

And I saved about $1700 on this vacation w/ my travel membership.  I *highly* recommend you checkout Global Resorts Network!

7dust – finally!

Posted by: Adam Holland | Comments (0)

I’ve pretty much dedicated my site here to blogs specific to RFS, mlm, home based businesses, internet marketing, and similar topics.  I rarely blog about anything recreational or about my hobbies, but this is just a big deal to me…

I just read an email I got from the Sevendust fanclub newsletter (they’ve been a favorite band of mine throughout college and the present) and their original guitarist is back!  The original lineup has reunited, and it couldn’t have been better timing.

For being 1 of my favorite bands, they were pretty much OFF of that list for the past few years.  After switching 1 of their guitarists, they made 2 cds that just pretty much sucked.  In fact, the one before they lost that guitarist sucked too.  12-13 tracks per cd, and about 2-3 good songs… for the last 3 cds.

The new cd comes out April 1st, so let’s keep our fingers crossed!  The band is back – woo hoo!

It takes more than talent to win the biggest game of the year…

Living in NY and following the Giants through out the season (their training camp is even in Albany :-)   ) I got to see the events unfold 1 week at a time…

The REAL reason the Giants won isn’t just because they decided to pull together and work as a team… it wasn’t just their talent or a little luck…

Like Strahan said in the post-game, it’s all about confidence…  <———

The week that the team stopped talking about how it was this persons fault or that person’s… if Coughlin was a good enough coach, and if Eli had a leadership problem…

The moment that they began to UPLIFT and ENCOURAGE each other is the REAL moment they became Champions…  When they began to SPEAK the right words… THAT is when things started to come together…

They fed off of each other’s enthusiasm and confidence, and that confidence carried them through the biggest games of their lives…

REMEMBER TO UPLIFT AND ENCOURAGE EACH OTHER!

IT DOESN’T MATTER IF IT’S IN SPORTS, IN BUSINESS, IN RELATIONSHIPS!!

YOU CAN CREATE THAT MOMENTUM OF POSITIVITY IN YOUR OWN LIFE  BY ENCOURAGING OTHERS!

DON’T FORGET TO PAY IT FORWARD!!!

The Giants Do It Again!

Posted by: Adam Holland | Comments (0)

Can you believe it?  The New York Giants not only beat the Bucs AND the Cowboys, but they just beat the Packers in overtime in the NFC championship… and they’re off to Arizona for the Superbowl…

If you asked anyone early on in the season if the Giants would go to the Big Show, everyone would’ve said ‘not a chance’…

Plagued with injuries, a not-so-confident QB, a sloppy secondary, and up-and-down coach, and more… they were just simply NOT in the running… But they turned things around and fought for every year to come up with a ton of big wins…

After the game, Coach Tom Coughlin said that it was their character and teamwork that pulled them together for these big victories…  The team definitely has the talent, but I saw so many of the players (especially Manning – who was supposed to be the offense’s leader) walking around with his head down.  For the first few games of the season they lost because they thought like they had already lost…

The Giants became great when they started to THINK and ACT great… then and only then did the magic start to happen on the football field…  When each teammate started to encourage and empower each other for success, they started to succeed.

We see examples like this so often in sports… and it should remind us in life and in business to always encourage and empower each other in everything we do.
