I have a video on 1 of my several YouTube profiles that is about network marketing and has stirred up some conversation debate over whether or not mlm is a feasible business opportunity. After about 7 months online, the video has almost 5000 views and has developed a little bit of traffic back to my site. Great. It took me 10 mins to make it, another 10 to edit and compile the video, and another 10 to upload it, do keyword research, and type the headline/description. So a half an hour of work that resulted in some leads to my business. Good stuff…

But this below video has gotten over 4,000 views in the last 2 or 3 days… Why? Timing…

It’s the Olympics and the big thing going on right now is Michael Phelps gold medal wins and world record breaking performances…

So what did I do? I created a tribute to him, did a voiceover on some pictures of Phelps, and added a link to my site.

Pretty sweet, huh?

Think to yourself, “what’s going on that’s very BIG… controversial, inspiring, whatever…” and then put up a video w/ your commentary about it… Share it with friends, associates, and your email lists… The more views, high ratings, and comments the better.

I’ve been diligently working on the Explode My Business Mastermind Course for about 1 1/2 months now.  The course itself has been done for over a week, and I’ve been working on the sales page, affiliate page, and download pages.  (I always forget just how much code is a pain in the BUTT!)

Nonetheless, I wanted to write this blog specifically about how your schedule is SO much different when you start working from home.  Having a “regular” schedule is very possible, but it’s just “not my style”.  I’m a pretty spontaneous person… okay, or maybe I’m just lazy when it comes to planning stuff and just always come up with something last minute.  But (more…)

The written part of the course is complete, with minor editing required (table of contents, a few graphics, etc…). Now I’m on to the video tutorials.

Previously, I guessed that there would be about 20 video tutorials on marketing and 10 bonus videos on leadership and entrepreneurship. The 10 leadership videos are separate package… So those are a must, I just needed to see what sections of the course I had basically put “reference this video for more info”…

After tallying all of the references to the videos in the course, I had total not 20 tutorial (more…)

So I see alot of people jumping on the boat to become reps with Genewize, a new network marketing company.  When I went to see what it was about, this was the info I gathered…

It’s about taking a test that gathers DNA info and then recommending nutritional supplements based on the results.

Good idea I guess, because your DNA does not change… but this seemed strangely familiar when I read it.

It was actually EXACTLY the same damn thing Quixtar / Amway came out with about 2 years ago!

Ok, I’ve got a confession. I’m a big cheater. I steal and copy and borrow from… well… the high income earners online. You see, I didn’t become a ‘guru’ (and I don’t plan to) but I started to succeed when I started to emulate the Big Boys of this industry.

I read as much as I could from the MLM Giants who were using all of the most modern techniques. I studied their sales pages, their courses, their articles, and more…

And when you are surfing around the internet, your bound to find the footprints of the great network marketers…

But you’re also going to see people marketing their business in the TOTALLY WRONG WAY!

Here’s what I came across that REALLY irked me… I was browsing forums and mlm blogs (a nice place to start sprinkling your domain name in your signatures) and I noticed sooo many newbies to this industry making themselves look, well, like NEWBIES!

Here’s what I mean…

If you leave a comment in a blog, you can set your name to link to a URL. Like, if you put ‘Adam Holland’ under the NAME field and ‘RevolutionProfits.com’ under the URL field… your comment may look like this:

>>Adam Holland

>>blah blah.. here’s my comment..

and if you click the name it will go to the URL… But what URL is the real question. Some people are using URL’s like:

fireyourboss.blogspot.com/forums/3994r/dhfjhwo/fkhkdf/optin.html

I mean, does that look even REMOTELY professional? First of all, it’s a free blog url… You mean to tell me that with your SIX FIGURE biz opp, you can’t scrape together $10 to buy a domain name? See what I mean?

If you’re going to be a multi-millionaire, you first need to present yourself as that professional… as someone who knows what they’re talking about… as a leader… Not as a cheapskate or ‘corner-cutter’…

INVEST in your business KNOWING that you’re going to make six figures… per MONTH… someday, and you WILL.

UPDATE: Immediately after writing this blog, I checked out my Google Reader for RSS updates on other blogs I like to read.  One of them is Shoemoney (an affiliate marketer who’s no-bs, downright honest commentary is something I love to read).  One of his latest posts is: 10 Reasons Why Your an Idiot

2) blogspot.com domain. If your trying to sell me something or convince me to work with you and your website is somethingspammy.blogspot.com odds are ive already hit delete. Its one thing to start out on a free host but even scoble eventually figured out he needed his own domain to quit looking like a amateur.
