World Ventures Buys Out Success University?
ByExcuse me, but what the hell? When I got registered with Success University it was because I valued the product and appreciated the concept of their business plan.
And now SU has “merged” with World Ventures? Now, it seems by Matt Morris’ letter to the company that it seems like SU was being bought out by World Ventures. They’re “merging” the compensation plans, and everyone who started with SU won’t see any additional monthly fees.
So I guess there’s one plus… And making more money is certainly a plus… HOWEVER…
Matt Morris states in his letter that the travel industry is the LARGEST industry in the world. Well, Matt I totally agree with you… But World Ventures may not have been the best company to choose.
You see, I shared Matt’s same excitement for the travel industry. I looked over several companies and decided which one to go with. And it was NOT World Ventures. Sorry. And definitely NOT YTB either.
(Good thing because YTB’s in some legal trouble in California w/ the Attorney General right now.. hmmm.)
So, now the company I thought I was promoting as a personal development company is losing the branding I was associating myself with, and I’d be in direct competition with my Global Resorts Network business.
This may be good news for SU reps, but not really good news for me..
Thoughts?

Hi Adam,
My name is Anton Leyland, and I am a counselor with Success University (SU)
This may be news to you, but on the morning of JUNE 1st, thousands of SU distributors will awaken to the fact that, they will no longer be able to operate SU as a business entity.
As it stands out of 180 countries SU operates in, only 11 countries will intially be able to do business as a SU representative.
Granted these other “lesser” countries probably make up only 10% of the companies distributors…this is still a few thousand represenatives that will be affrected..
Because the country I operate my business in, does not fall into the “safe” genre, ….my business that I spent nearly 3 years building, and thousands of dollars promoting will be affectively dissolved.
SU is offering all those affected free access to the website- minus the mailiings….but this doesn’t solve the problem of my lost income…
While everyone has been celebrating in HQ, quietly thousands of distributers are gradually becoming aware that their party is over…
Folks- let this be a lesson- NEVER rely on ONE opportunity alone for your income….
Remember you don’t own your business- your company does!

Well said, Anton. Never put your eggs in 1 basket.
This is truly disappointing. And now it’s going to take me a week just to dump SU out of my autoresponders, adwords campaigns, and other sites/offers.
Best of luck with your other ventures!

Hey Adam,
I am in agreement with you thus far. This is odd…and very unfortunate. I did not see this coming, nor did many thousands of hard-working SU associates.
Thanks for your great posting about the topic.

=======================================
Thanks Adam,
At the end of the day all this is a big learning curve for me and hopefully everyone else out there who’s businesses will be affected by the changes looming.
I’ve just added a new post in the Warrior Forum- I’ve attached it here for more enlightenment on the subject…
keep up the Great work Adam!
=======================================
This is for Fojack, and all those who feel upset over the changes happening to Success University.
Thanks Fojack for your feedback, and to answer your question-
Look at coachanton (Why would he ever again get involved in mlm)?. He has put his life and soul into it and yet again a decision is made and bang, commissions gone
The honest truth is, I still believe in the power of network marketing, and the business structure….
I have no fight with Matt Morris or Success University.
And yes I will ALWAYS be involved with some Network Marketing company is some shape or form…….just involved on a completely different level than 90% people out there.
In fact, what I need to do is thank Success University, for cementing in mind even more strongly the idea, that you should NEVER rely on just one stream of income (online) for your business livelihood.
I’ve read books, listen to Audios, watched videos, completed multiple courses and have even spoken with BIG name, full time internet marketers, who have told me, time and time again, never put all your eggs in one basket, and ONLY ever use your MLM company as ONE source of income….
That lesson came home is a BIG way, a few days ago…
Luckily for me, I have been working on other side projects for over a year now, so I do in fact have a PLAN B,C &D….
Like I’ve said before, I just feel sorry for others less fortunate- or less educated, who did not even have a plan B!
For all those out there disillusioned by the dream of MLM riches (or at least freedom from their 9-5)….there are ways to incorporate MLM into an overall business plan-
(If you want to learn more, check out the FREE report in my signature below…)
What everyone has to remember is- if you want to make it BIG in MLM..there are two ways to go about.
1. Be a person- or become a person with a large influence, huge numbers of contacts (high quality contacts even better, great communication skills, sales skills, listening skills, leadership skills, business and organizational skills, public speaking skills, phone skills, a strong understanding of psychology, an advertising budget in the thousands per month, PLUS a never give up attitude…
Not too much to ask to achieve the “Dream” is it?
Your second option is:
2. become proficient in marketing over the internet….learn how to market to your target market(fish) instead of going after sales right of the bat (hunting)…
know where the fish are….hone your fishing skills, drop “attractive” bait into the right spots, and wait for the fish to bite….
Now notice the FIRST option contained a lot of intangible skills…..meaning skills that are quite hard to teach….
The people who have or achieve those skill sets, make up about 10% of the people who will get involved in MLM…
This will answer (in a very compact way) WHY 90% of all people who get involved in MLM fail…
Now for the good news….re-read option #2.
“become proficient in marketing over the internet….”
This CAN be taught…
What will happen when you start grasping these new ideas and teachings, and start implementing them, you WILL see ACTUAL results much faster than you would through traditional avenues.
Once you start enrolling more people, signing people up, selling more product, get starting building YOUR own list, monetising that list, and receiving multiple checks in the mail from various sources…
Your sales skills will- increase
Your communication Skills will improve
Your leadership skills- improve naturally
Your listening skills- improve
Your circle of influence- increases
And the most important aspect of this of this learning curve is…your general attitude and belief in your self and YOUR business will literally go through the roof!
Notice how these “intangible” skills get better naturally, as an offshoot of your internet marketing skills increasing!!
This is what 99% of traditional MLM trainings fails to teach…
I hope this posting, challenged a few paradigms out there…
Remember never cease your education and through adversity greatness may come!!

Global Resorts really? WorldVentures offers the same thing GRN does but for FREE.
How can you possibly think that is a better deal when GRN sells their “memberships” for $3K and WorldVentures offers the same thing for absolutely FREE?
I guess I do not understand the better part.
May 3rd, 2009 at 12:14 pm
@Scott – FREE? You mean WV doesn’t charge for their services? How about the one-time fee and additional monthly expenses?
Let’s compare apples to apples.
How many people do you need to recruit in WV to make the $1000 commission I get with ONE rep for GRN. And then add on the fact that there’s a $1000 override from your personally sponsored reps.
I can’t name a single “heavy hitter” in WV, while I know dozens of professional internet marketers all making a truckload of money from GRN.
Anyways, this post is about Success University and how they’re totally screwing their reps… not comparing travel companies.

I am very interested in how this all went down and how it will work. I wish Success University Marketers all the best, as we are in the same industry. I am Director for Brian Tracy’s iLearning Global and we were shocked by this news of the merge. As a new Network Marketing Company that offers personal development and business training, we are hearing more and more about marketers like yourself not quite understanding. So I am going to continue to check back here and see if I can fully understand it. Again, I wish all the marketers the best, this industry is the greatest in the world (both actually, MLM and Personal Development)! In a way we are all on the same team, see you all at the top!

Hey James. Thanks for your post. I’ve heard of at least a few SU reps transitioning over to iLearning Global.
Other notable opps out there would be: Liberty League Int’l (just google Tony Rush), Lifepath Unlimited (just do a search for Jenn Lawlor and get on her team), and I’m sure there’s a few others..
This could be a BIG opportunity for other companies out there picking up disgruntled SU reps…

Hi Adam,
All I can say is wow! What is going on?
This is weird but a couple of months ago I cancelled my monthly subscription to SU. Not because I was dissatisfied, it was because I had my fingers in too many pies. So I streamlined down to my MLM and GDI…which keeps on truckin. SU must have also packed it in the following month.
I only found out about this news tonight whilst surfing in Traffic Swarm. Jason Cardamone has revamped his SU Copycat – the new mix just does not compute.
On a positive note I still have hours of CD’s and DVD’s and I continue to feed the brain and move forward.
Thanks to Matt, Johnny, Ned, Kapesh and all the other leaders and Faculty providers like Todd F who provided such amazing content and inspiration.

Yea, they had a great product…
And I’m familiar w/ Cardamone’s system – he’s a great leader and always tries to put together great training and content for his team… Now, will he revamp everything for WV? who knows, that’s up to him…

Adam, I too, was called by my original sponsor in Success University (Trish Smith) to re-join just 2 days prior to the “launch” of the merger. I DID, and then realized that there really is no more Success University. I wasted $49.
Well, I dropped it like a lit match, and began looking for something else. I am now trying Passport to Wealth, by signing up through the “free trial” on June 30th. Anyone familiar with it? It costs $997 to purchase the software products, but that is also the commision I get from every sale too.
Any suggestions?

This is my mail I sent to Kalpesh Patel, My opinion is somewhat more outspoken to yours.
Hello Kalpesh,
It was a pleasure to talk to you today and to hear that you do understand the scam (and the word is an understatement) that Mr. Morris you and Mr. Wimbrey have done to many of thousands of members around the world. The really unbelievable factor resides in precisely what Success University stood for and what you yourself gave as being the top industry because of its intellectual, mental, non-palpable but real product accessible to all and everyone around the globe.
What really hurts, and what will not be digested is that you sold our e-mails to a company whose business is incompatible to thousands of members for your own advantage and knew this full well. To dispatch this as normal business practice is simply horrendous as well as being laid down to a basic Internet fraud. Obviously having done this once you will lose all perspectives of normal business practices and may well finish off by increasing your luck to greater frauds when your needs call for it.
There were many alternatives to “merging” Success University for the advantage of its members, but the easy apparent choice was taken, and that is where the pit hole will soon call it a day for having chosen a contradiction to the adage that success is only achieved when no collateral chaos is accepted. Mr. Bernard Madoff did a better job in this field but then age and experience was on his side.
If these words seem hard, then remember that pressing the button, or tipping the applecart, is simply to wake you up to reality and in hoping that you will one day walk the true talk you were personally darned good at. In the mean time I will obviously continue to advise verbally and by forums and blogs about this criminal rip-off you condescend to having masterminded.
Yours sincerely,
Robert.

It all comes back to the fact that when you’re building an mlm company, that is in fact what you’re doing… building THEIR company. You’ve got NO control.
Do we really know that Kalpesh, Johnny, and the other leaders were in on it? No. And I don’t blame them. They really couldn’t have made a difference if they wanted to. They would’ve been risking their entire business so doing a “coup” would’ve been just as counter productive.
The solution?? –> build YOUR business. Built around You, Inc… Where YOU are the reason people join, not the company…
I’ve built my company through creating my own products AND promoting affiliate offers/mlm. But my company always will come first..
To Your Success,
Adam Holland

Hi
This mail is long down the line timewise because I have been ill/in shock
Two years of hard work building an SU team based on education and elevating people through personal development – Down the drain
Friends ripped off – Colleagues in dire financial situations – Where is my integrity now to start a new business
R50 000 of my retirement money – Down the drain
No wonder MLM has such a bad name – THANKS MATT MORRIS AND CLOSE ADVISORS – NO NAMES MENTIONED
You dumped us and saved yourselves
You even conned us into getting all the failed business owners to contribute yet another months subscription to be welcomed back into this wonderful opportunity – COUPLE OF MILLION EXTRA
5 months after merger/take over/sell out
No adequate training given in South Africa – Who can afford an overseas trip plus accomodation to be trained on the very product you want us to sell marketing/travel and the ROVIA website is still not active to earn commission
Yes – I can put it down to an expensive learning experience but what do I tell the people who trusted me and are now the laughing stock of their communities
I am ashamed to have been part of all of this – Complaint filed with DSA for all it is worth
