Network Marketing News and Opinions

Archive for November, 2008

I’ve been in the network marketing industry for about 5 years now.  I’ve seen some companies come and go, and I’ve seen their reps jump from company to company in hopes of finding the “next big thing”.  Is Ambit Energy it?  Is Ambit Energy a scam, or is it the real deal?

Well, for me at least, I’m going to pass.  I’ve met alot of people and developed a nice rolodex (especially in the last year or so) in this industry.   And after this company launched, I got about 20 calls from people asking me to join their downline.  Some calls were from people that knew of my online mlm lead generation system.  Some were even people that were in my downline before and QUIT!  I even had someone that I showed mlm to my first month in the industry, and all they could say was “oh, that’s a pyramid…” and BAM!!!  Five years later and they want me in their downline.

Well, I’m a firm believer in mentorship and giving to people straight.  Ambit is very similar to ACN (communications mlm) in that you make up to a few hundred dollars when someone signs up, but you make virtually NOTHING on the back end.  According to their website, it’s about $0.25 to $1.00 per customer per month.  I’d need to have 10,000 customers in my business just to be able to make a six figure income…  BLAH!

Ambit reps: you can sell the “residual income” pitch to your prospects, but be realistic with them.  Don’t tell them they’ll get rich off of the residuals.  Make sure they understand that they’ll need to sponsor over a dozen people per month to make a living!  And then have to sponsor a small country to make a living off of the residuals.  Make sense?

This is why many people in mlm have turned to “GPT” which stands for Get Paid Today.  And there’s dozens of other companies that you can make MORE than a few hundred dollars when you signup someone.

Ambit Energy is NOT a scam… but there are sure alot better network marketing companies to team up with.

That’s my 2 cents.

So, last year I got a travel membership through Global Resorts Network.  If you haven’t heard of them, they give you around 50-80% OFF 4- and 5-star resorts and cruises for a membership fee.  The fee is pretty reasonable because I’ve saved probably $4k on my vacations so far (and that’s just in the first year…)

I recently had a business trip to Chicago, but I wanted to take some time off afterwards.  I had been procrastinating my next vacation long enough, so I said “screw it” and just went.  I spent 3 days in Chicago for business and then drove up to Lake Geneva… And it was GORGEOUS!

Horseback riding, Skiing and Snowboarding, and 2 world-class golf courses (too bad I *stink* at golf!)

And I saved about $1700 on this vacation w/ my travel membership.  I *highly* recommend you checkout Global Resorts Network!

First, let me start out by saying I have NOTHING against Angelo Nardone.  From the times I’ve spoken with him and seen him speak, he’s been very kind and sincere.  Some of his talks have been very inspirational and heartfelt.  HOWEVER, there’s a big problem with Amway/Quixtar.

It’s been a known problem over the years - Amway’s comp plan is terrible (go ahead and compare it with other mlm (more…)

Quixtar Water Filter - simply the best

I’ve been using this water filter from Amway/Quixtar for years…  It’s called eSpring.  And it’s pretty good amazing.  It’s the healthiest source of water, and it tastes great.  It’s actually kind of funny that since I give my dogs water from this water purifier, my dogs probably drink better water than most people in my area… haha.

Here’s a video demo that shows why this filter ROCKS

Here’s a link if you want to see some more details:

  • I truly love Starbucks.  I really don’t care if it’s $4 for a cup of coffee.  The atmosphere helps me work, it helps me get out of my house, and it allows me to FOCUS on my business.

Luckily most of what I do now is on my laptop.  But I still see alot of traditional network marketers coming in to Starbucks to meet their prospects.  Maybe it’s for the WiFi (Panera Bread is another big MLM hangout) but whatever.

It still gives me a chance to “spy” on other mlmers.  I get to see how I used to grow my business (before I learned about online mlm lead generation) and how to attract my prospects TO ME.  But I also get to meet all sorts of people in different (more…)

Okay. Let’s not beat around the bush. Internet marketers have been making a full time income using Craigslist for a while now. And now network marketers are finding out that it’s a great place to generate a ton of hot leads.

Nowadays CL has a lot in place to stop “spamming” marketers. You need to use phone verified accounts, auto-posting software, an ISP where you can change your IP address frequently, and randomize every bit of your ads. It’s a BIG PROJECT.

Here’s my fundamentals when setting up a brand new Craigslist marketing campaign.

1.) Posting in the small biz ads section should minimize the chances of your ad getting flagged, as biz opps can be listed there.

2.) Use a wireless aircard to change your IP address (I change it after EVERY post…)

3.) Use redirects to cloak your images and links. All of my small biz ads include 2 things and 2 things ONLY. A clickable image and (see #4)

4.) Use random hidden text. Most autoposters have some form of this built in. It becomes “hidden” when the color of the text is so close to white that it’s almost unnoticeable.

5.) Randomize your headlines with what’s called “tags” or “tokens”, depending on what softwhere you’re using. A “tag” is a phrase that you use in your ads that will randomly substitute another phrase in the text. It’s a simple way to make your ads more random.

6.) Use phone verified accounts. They can be purchased online for around $4-$6 a piece (generally). You CAN create them yourself, but it’s extremely time consuming so I recommend buying them instead.

When you start to learn these fundamentals, and then build upon them… you’ll be able to generate TONS of leads using Craigslist.
