Guitar Hero Marketing Challenge

No, I’m not talking about marketing Guitar Hero or anything… I just finally bit the bullet and bought Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock. And, yes, it’s very fun and very addicting.

So addicting I was almost going to let it effect my work habits. And when you’re a young entrepreneur fighting for market share in your home based internet business, you’d better be working your butt off. You don’t have time to waste playing video games 6 hours a day.

So, I came up with an idea. Is it still possible to be productive in my business while playing video games? Normally, I’d say absolutely not… Your mind can only do 1 thing at a time… and I’m not talking about multi-tasking. I’m talking about your 100% attention.

So, I thought what marketing tasks I could do while playing. I decided that since my wife and I both play Guitar Hero, we could both take turns playing songs, and while it’s the other person’s turn we could be working.

But not doing mind-numbing work. Not copywriting, ezine article writing, lead capture page design, or anything like that. How about entering in the captcha codes into automated message-sending software to do some advertising… We could post ads while working because all of the ads, subject lines, etc.. were already written, and everything else is automated posting with the appropriate software (sorry, you gotta be on my business team to get the names of those programs ;o) …

So all we had to do was look at the letters on the screen and type them into the box. That’s like work for”slow-people”… that’s marketing for 4th graders… or (sorry if this pisses you off) it’s like $8-an-hour-employee-work. No offense, and not to brag or anything — cuz I’m no rocket scientist, but I made $5,000 my first month using these “simon says”, kindergarden-level marketing techniques that really ANYONE can duplicate… and I’m even doing it working from home, playing video games… having a TON of fun working on my business.
